

The original Keris Taming Sari owned by Hang Tuah. It was special in that it was made of twenty types of iron - supposedly metal left over from the forging of the bolts of the Ka'aba. It was said that Taming Sari could do Hang Tuan's fighting for him - if Hang Tuah were menaced or in any way endangered, the keris would leap out of its sheath all by itself, fly though the air attack the assailant, moving in the air whichever way the assailant dodged or turned, until it hit its mark.

The wooden "hulu" of keris semenanjung is similar to keris Hulu Jawa Demam. The blade is comprising of several "lok" and "pamor". The "sarung" is crafted with "awan larat" pattern. This is one of the most popular of all keris.
The Keris is believed to be the most powerful Malay weapon. Believed to possess magical powers, it rich with superstition and is used during elaborate rituals centuries ago. The Keris, a Malay two-edged dagger created for closed combat is even believed to have the ability to protect and guide its bearer to victory in battle.
